Who is this Scholarship for?

We have deliberately kept the eligibility criteria for this program broad so that it is available to students from all walks of life. Having said that, here are the minimum benchmarks that you need to fulfill in order to be eligible for this scholarship.

You need to be an Indian Citizen

It goes without saying, but this scholarship is exclusively for students who are Indian citizens. In order to confirm your citizenship, we would just require your passport details.

You need to be a Swadesh User

If you haven’t already, you have to open a Swadesh account for yourself. Don’t worry; you don’t have to pay any fees to do this. Check out these steps to know how to proceed with this step.

You should have an Admission Letter from an American University

In addition to the previous two requirements, you must also be enrolled in an American University for higher education with a program length of at least 18 months.

Breakdown of the Scholarship

With this scholarship, we wanted to catalyze maximum impact, and for maximum inclusivity, we divided the scholarship program into three tiers.

Swadesh Gold Scholar

This prestigious tier of the scholarship program is reserved for the most exceptional and outstanding candidate. Among the pool of applicants, only one individual will be awarded the Swadesh Gold Scholar title, along with a generous financial aid package of $10,000 USD.

Swadesh Silver Scholar

A total of ten individuals will be honored with the Swadesh Silver Scholar title, along with a scholarship award of $5,000 USD each.

Swadesh Bronze Scholar

The Swadesh Bronze Scholar tier offers a remarkable opportunity for twenty talented individuals to receive recognition and financial support. Each recipient of the Swadesh Bronze Scholar title will be granted a scholarship award of $2,000 USD.

How to Apply in Three Simple Steps

The application process for this scholarship is a simple three step process that you can start immediately after finishing this blog.

Step 1: Open your Swadesh account

Step 2: Essay shortlisting

Once you’ve created your account, go to https://www.swadesh.co/scholarship and apply for the scholarship.

In the application process, we will ask you a few interpersonal questions to help us understand why you’re the most deserving candidate for this scholarship.

Take your time to perfect your answers, because this step will determine if you’re shortlisted for the next phase of selection.

But don’t wait too long because the deadline for this task is August 2nd, 2023.

Step 3: Follow us to stay updated

Shortlisted applicants will be notified via email and asked to submit a video essay on a prompt that will be disclosed in the future. This video essay will provide an opportunity for you to showcase your communication skills, creativity, and passion for your chosen field of study.
